The Pro HDMI to VGA and Audio Converter is an ideal solution for connecting newer laptops or computers that output an HDMI signal to a legacy display, such as projectors or monitors, which accept a VGA and 3.5mm stereo audio input. We needed the power supplies
We used these devices on two auditorium projector installations where a 100' VGA cable was used between the control console and the projector location. It was able to push HDMI from a laptop or tablet without a problem. It stripped off the sound which we fed to the sound console, but there is a slight 60 Hz hum. Not horrible, but there. The Chromecast device was unable to push HDMI to the projector until the optional power supply was ordered. Overall, this device coupled with a long VGA cable and a power supply was a low cost way to get an HDMI output over long distances.

Works like a charm
i needed a way to connect my newer Dell laptop that outputs via HDMI to an older projector via VGA and a way for both audio and video. This converter works as expected.

Good option for Mac Mini
Our Mac Mini needed an additional vga connection and this product provided that option with our older projector. However, it required the power supply to function with our Mac. The sound output never worked on the device as expected, but we just plugged into the headphone jack of the Mac, which does the same thing. It feels sturdy and durable.

Perfect device for connecting legacy equipment!
After multiple attempts to connect an existing legacy projector to the new 1080i 2x8 video switcher, it looked hopeless. The new flat panel displays worked perfectly, but do to the cabling being 5-mini coaxial cables, to a 5-conductor VGA pigtail, it wasn’t a true VGA connection. This device turns the digital HDMI to a true analog signal. Perfect solution to connecting legacy equipment!

Worked Perfectly
Bought this to use my VGA port when my TV HDMI ports stopped working. I needed it for my Amazon Fire stick and it worked perfectly, as promised, by C2G Customer Tech that I chatted online with. Very happy with this product and C2G service.

Does the Pro HDMI to VGA converter support HDCP?
If this is intended for non-HDCP compliant sources then it CANNOT be used for a cable box to projector interface as was indicated in a previous question.

What is your part number for the optional power supply? To me it seems like a good idea to include this type of info with the product, maybe in the description or something.
We always suggest using our part number 42223, we do not have a optional power supply that can be purchased online. Our 98157 can be purchased over the phone. If you would like the direct power supply please contact our customer service team.

I have used one of these HDMI to VGA adapters, can it work with multiple monitors after being converted to VGA? Essentially signal being converted, then going to a system like an Eboard system that has several displays in different areas of the building.
It can but, it would depend if the system would accept the conversion from HDMI to VGA.

Does this device provide a RGBHV output or just a RGB? This device will be used to connect HDMI output from a VTC unit to an analog RGBHV video switcher/router.

Yes this will directly convert the HDMI to a VGA signal. Be sure to check the VGA port on your display to be sure it will support the proper resolutions.

This device converts a single HDMI audio and video signal to a VGA (video) and 3.5mm (stereo audio) output. So the VGA is strictly for the video and the 3.5mm would output the audio from the HDMI signal.
